Margin Ghost is built for chefs, by a chef—no BS, no spying. We keep it simple because you do too. Here’s exactly what you need to know about your data.
We don’t collect emails or personal info unless you upgrade to paid.
For free users:
• Anonymized usage data (like which items you add) stored locally in your browser (localStorage). No servers, no tracking.
For paid users:
• Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor) collects name, email, and card details during checkout to handle subscriptions. We only get confirmation of your purchase (no card info).
• Free tier: Local data enforces your 3 free items (no gaming the system).
• Paid: To confirm access and manage your $19.99/mo sub. We don’t use it for marketing or anything else. No selling, no sharing beyond what’s needed for payments.
Payments go through Lemon Squeezy—they’re the pros, and their policy covers your checkout data. We don’t access or store your full payment details. No other trackers or analytics.
We use one essential cookie from Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy_session) to remember your free tier status and paid access. It doesn’t track you across sites. Manage it anytime in your browser settings. No third-party cookies.
• Access/Delete: Email us to see or wipe your data (localStorage clears on request). Paid users: Cancel anytime via Lemon Squeezy portal.
• No Selling: We don’t sell or share your data for ads (CCPA/CPRA compliant). Opt out of any future sharing by emailing us.
• Retention: Local data stays until you clear it; payment confirmations kept as long as your sub is active + 7 years for taxes.
Data’s encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored securely. We use Cloudflare for protection, but you’re responsible for your device.
